The team includes highly qualified and experienced professional engineers who have specialised in this field for many years. They are certified by the Australasian Corrosion Association (ACA), NACE International and Engineers Australia.
JOHN KALIS - GROUP CEO & CFO
John is a Principal Engineer with a degree in chemical engineering and is also an ACA accredited Corrosion Technologist with over 40 years of experience in cathodic protection and corrosion engineering.
John's role is CEO/CFO for the CCE Group and has been employed by the company since 2003. During this time he has guided the company from a three-person operation to a position where CCE is now the largest specialist corrosion mitigation company in Australia. John is based in the Sydney office and his employment roles were Managing Director of Corrpro Australia and Wilson Walton International.
John also uses his vast wealth of experience in the corrosion industry to provide technical assistance at a Principal Engineering level to the regional operations.
JASON PATERSON - GROUP GENERAL MANAGER
Jason is a NACE certified Cathodic Protection Technician with over 25 years of worldwide experience in the rehabilitation and protection of oil, gas, water, sewer pipelines and other critical infrastructure assets.
Jason is a NACE International and Australasian Corrosion Association (ACA) member who has been directly involved with pipeline integrity and rehabilitation projects throughout Australia, North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
PETER KALIS - REGIONAL DIRECTOR (NSW/ACT)
Peter is a Metallurgical Engineer with over 20 years of cathodic protection and corrosion engineering experience. He has been involved in, and has managed, all aspects of corrosion science and cathodic protection works including: estimating, design, project management, installation, commissioning, routine testing, reporting, materials selection and failure investigations.
Peter is a member of the Australasian Corrosion Association (ACA) and NACE International. His cathodic protection expertise includes wharves/bridges, shipping, pipelines, water tanks, industrial plants and concrete steel reinforcement.
Peter is an ACA accredited Corrosion Technician and has been a Director of CCE (NSW) since 2001. Previously, Peter worked with Wilson Walton International and Corrpro Companies from 1995-2001.
JIM GALANOS - ENGINEERING MANAGER (NSW/ACT)
Jim holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Manufacturing Management and has over 20 years of cathodic protection experience. Jim has managed all aspects of cathodic protection including design, project management, installation, commissioning, routine testing/troubleshooting and reporting.
Areas of CP expertise include wharves/bridges, shipping, pipelines, tanks, industrial plants and concrete steel reinforcement. This also includes evaluating and mitigating stray current effects from DC sources.
Jim is an Australasian Corrosion Association (ACA) accredited Corrosion Technologist and has been an active member of the ACA since 1998 and has served as NSW Branch President and Secretary. He is an accredited ACA Lecturer in cathodic protection and is an active NSW Branch Committee Member and Councillor.
Jim holds the NACE CP-4 Cathodic Protection Specialist certification, the highest level of CP qualification offered by NACE.
JIM STEELE - REGIONAL DIRECTOR (QLD/NT/PNG)
Jim is a Principal Engineer with a degree in chemical engineering and has over 40 years of experience in corrosion engineering and cathodic protection, having undertaken works in multiple industries.
He has applied his experience to shipping, marine structures, pipelines, oilfields, tank farms and other industrial plants including concrete structures.
Jim manages all facets of corrosion engineering including design, installation and commissioning. He also has specialist knowledge of Microbial Induced Corrosion (MIC), earthing, lightning protection and AC interference effects.
Jim is currently CCE’s Queensland Regional Director and is a chartered member of MIE (Aust.) and a member of NACE and the Australasian Corrosion Association (ACA). Jim is a RPEQ, ACA Corrosion Technologist and Coating Inspector.
RYAN McKAY – ENGINEERING MANAGER (QLD/NT/PNG)
Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering and is a Senior Corrosion Engineer with over 11 years of experience in project management, cathodic protection, and pipeline Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC). Ryan is a Canadian citizen who holds the NACE CP-4 Cathodic Protection Specialist certification, the highest level of CP qualification offered by NACE.
Ryan manages the Brisbane based engineering team whose work primarily includes the design, installation, commissioning, testing and auditing of all types of cathodic protection systems for a wide variety of structures.
DARYL McCORMICK - REGIONAL DIRECTOR (VIC/SA/TAS)
Daryl is a Principal Engineer with a degree in mechanical engineering and has over 37 years of experience in corrosion engineering and the application of cathodic protection to critical infrastructure. Experience includes corrosion mitigation design and remediation solutions for pipelines, storage tanks, electric transmission, power plants, offshore platforms, wharves and jetties.
Daryl opened the CCE Melbourne office in 2003. He is a Member of the Institution of Engineers Australia, a 27-year member of NACE International and 34-year member of the Australasian Corrosion Association (ACA). Daryl is a NACE Certified Senior Technologist and an ACA Certified Technologist.
DIMITRI ROSS - ENGINEERING MANAGER (VIC/SA/TAS)
Dimitri is a Materials Scientist and a NACE level 2 certified coating inspector with over 8 years’ experience in the corrosion control industry. Dimitri has excellent knowledge in all areas of cathodic protection, having been involved in design, project management, installation, commissioning, routine testing, training and troubleshooting of various CP systems. Dimitri also has expertise in coating inspection, testing, specification and material selection.
Dimitri primarily specialises in the application and monitoring of cathodic protection systems for pipelines, storage tanks, wharves and jetties.
JOHN GRAPIGLIA - REGIONAL DIRECTOR (WA)
John is a Principal Engineer with over 30 years of experience in a variety of corrosion control and cathodic protection projects including onshore and offshore pipelines and structures. Work locations include Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, UK and Pakistan.
John is the Principal Engineer and Director for Corrosion Control Engineering’s regional office in Perth, Western Australia. He is an active member and a past President and Chairman of the Australasian Corrosion Association (ACA) and is also a current cathodic protection lecturer for the ACA.
John holds the NACE CP-4 Cathodic Protection Specialist certification, the highest level of CP qualification offered by NACE.
GRAHAME STRONG – ENGINEERING MANAGER (WA)
Dr Grahame Strong has 27 years’ experience in corrosion engineering, mainly within the petroleum industry. During this time Grahame has applied his expertise and interest in all things related to science, engineering and mathematical modelling to address problems related to corrosion and corrosion control.
As a qualified chemist specialising in electrochemistry this interest has extended to the management of selecting chemicals for use in upstream gas processing facilities. Grahame’s role in the Perth office is Principal Corrosion Engineer and WA Engineering Manager.
ALAN O’CONNOR – REGIONAL MANAGER (NEW ZEALAND)
Alan is a Senior Corrosion Engineer with 12 years’ experience in Cathodic Protection and Corrosion Engineering. Alan originally joined CCE in 2006 and after a few years at Australia’s largest gas pipeline operator between 2013 and 2017, he returns to the CCE team to manage the New Zealand operation in the position of Regional Manager / Senior Corrosion Engineer, based in CCE’s New Plymouth office.
